The “Do Nots” of Tying the Knot: Part III – How
So, you’ve read suggestions on timing and place that you should avoid when making a proposal, now for the how not to make a proposal…
DO NOT use a ring you’ve already proposed with. The ring you propose with should reflect your loved one’s personality. Proposing with a ring you’ve already used is a major dis to your current girlfriend or boyfriend because it says they weren’t important enough for you to buy a ring unique to them.
DO NOT put the ring inside of food your loved one is going to eat. A ring is a choking hazard and the diamond can also chip her tooth if she were to bite down on it. Rushing to the hospital is not how you want your proposal to end.
DO NOT expect an answer right away. This is a big step. People need time to process the situation and get their tears of joy to stop so don’t panic if it takes her a few seconds to respond. If you’ve followed the tips in these three blogs, you already have a pretty good chance of the answer being “YES!”
