Public Marriage Proposal: A Do or A Don’t?

Everyone has read horror stories about a marriage proposal during a basketball game going wrong, but there are also plenty of happy couples who became engaged in a very public setting.  So, is a public marriage proposal a do or a don’t?  Ultimately, it depends on that special someone you’re proposing to.  If your sweetheart doesn’t like being the center of attention and prefers small gatherings, proposing in Times Square may not be the best choice.  However, others thrive on having all eyes on them and would absolutely love being proposed to in the middle of Central Park.  If you like the idea of having people present when you pop the question but don’t want a swarm of strangers snapping photos of you, think about planning a proposal in the company of your family and close friends as opposed to in front of hoards of NYC tourists.
