While an engagement ring is certainly a special gift no matter the time of year, during the holiday season, it should be the icing on the cake, not the main gift. Since you did spend a pretty penny on the ring, the other gift does not need to be anything elaborate. In fact, something that is homemade or plays on an inside joke between the two of you will make the proposal that much more special. Use this gift to show your fiance how well you really know them and how much you care.

A thoughtful gift, despite the price, will mean so much more than any ole material thing. But don’t get us wrong, she certainly won’t say no to the ring!
