Engagement Rings: How Big is Too Big?

Huge-engagement-rings

When searching for an engagement ring, you want to find that perfect balance between size and quality. While a stunning two-carat engagement ring certainly puts a twinkle in your eye, you need to make sure that the quality of those carats are impressive, as well. So, with that being said, how big is too big for an engagement ring?

I’m sure we have all seen those jaw dropping rings, either in pictures or in person, but unless you are Kim Kardashian and have a) enough money to maintain the size, without sacrificing the quality and b)an assistant/nanny/maid to do your dirty work, an enormous rock weighing you down just isn’t practical.

Keep in mind, this is a piece of jewelry that you will be wearing (God-willing) for the rest of your life. While the initial excitement of picking out the engagement ring might have you pining for a ring that will catch even the most wandering eye, picture this ring tagging along with you for every aspect of your life (i.e. little Timmy’s soccer practice in ten years). The ring shouldn’t be the show stopper, you should be!  The ring should merely enhance your inner and outer beauty and compliment any outfit.

In conclusion, every bride is unique, and an engagement ring should be a reflection of that. While bride’s with daintier hands might feel more at east with a thin-banded, one carat ring, other brides might feel up to the task of taking on a two carat one. So, when picking out a ring to give to your better half, use your bride as your inspiration and remember, bigger isn’t always better!
