Memorable Celebrity Proposals
Although you might not remember whether or not the marriage lasts, you do remember what started it all: the marriage proposal. Celebrities are known for outlandish displays, so why should their proposal styles be any different? Take a look at four of the most unique and memorable celebrity proposals:
1. Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott: Dean proposed to Tori on Christmas Eve 2005. Keeping with theme of the holidays, Dean led Tori down a dimly-lit path in the middle of a Christmas Tree Forrest in Toronto, Canada. Dean must really love the holiday season because the actor then proposed again on Christmas Day 2006 in a romantic spot overlooking Lake Ontario.
2. Guiliana DePandi & Bill Rancic: Giuliana was met at the Chicago airport by a limousine that escorted her to a nearby helipad. Bill awaited his soon-to-be fiance with her favorite pizza and a bottle of champagne. The couple then proceeded to take a tour of Chicago, via helicopter. As they approached the downtown area, Bill popped the question amidst the holiday lights.
3. Charlie Sheen & Brooke Mueller: Charlie Sheen, before coining the phrase “winning,” made headlines with his proposal to American socialite, Brooke Mueller. Sheen whisked Mueller away to Costa Rica where he proposed on the beach. Despite the breathtaking views, Mueller’s eyes were on the diamond engagement ring valued at a whopping $500,000.
4. Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon: Last, but certainly not least, is the proposal of Nick Cannon to Mariah Carey. Cannon proposed to the singer with a 17-carat diamond engagement ring. But for this self-proclaimed diva, this proposal was not enough for her to give Cannon a “yes,” actually running away from the scene. A mere two days later, Cannon whisked his fiance away on a helicopter ride in order to re-pop the question. This proposal must have been more to Carey’s liking because she accepted.
